The Fast Break Program
The After
School Program, known as Fast Break, was created by Herb Pitch. As a community/board
member Mr. Pitch felt there was a need for quality child care for school aged
children between the time of school dismissal and 6 p.m. that was not currently
being addressed by any agency.
Fast Break is dedicated to providing a high quality After School Program for children in grades K-8 that insure adequate structure for the children to improve their socialization skills while encouraging each child to develop his/her potential.
Children involved in Fast Break interact with their own peer group in sports, arts and crafts, games and a variety of group activities. Children also have an opportunity to develop their own unique personalities, to spend time by themselves reading or doing homework, to talk with an adult or to create their own entertainment with the toys and games available to them at Fast Break.
As a concerned community member, the owners of Fast Break see the program as an opportunity for single and working parents to provide the kind of environment for their child After School each day that once was provided by the parent. The owner realize it is not possible for many parents to be at home at the time school is dismissed and have designed After School Program as the type of program they would like to have their own children attend.
Visitors
are welcome and encouraged to make an appointment to visit Fast Break to see if
it is the right place for their child. Parents of children in the program are
welcome at any time to drop in and observe the program in progress.
Students report to the Fast Break classroom immediately following the end of their school day and check in with the supervising staff person. Parents are asked to notify the staff in advance if their child is absent from school or if for some other reason will not attend Fast Break on a regularly scheduled day.
Fast Break ends at 6:00 p.m. each day. Adherence to our pickup times is a necessity for enrollment in the program.
During the school vacation periods, Fast Break runs a full-day program that includes field trips and activities for children throughout the area, whether they attend Fast Break during the school year or not. Our programs operate from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. each day. Our dedicated staff will take the kids on field trips to local parks and special attractions. Enrollment in either our summer, winter or spring vacation programs are weekly and limited in size.
